NEWS

It's May. And there's a lot to catch up on, so we'll be concise about it and only cover the basics:

  1. We went on tour in February, all along the West Coast, hitting up San Francisco, L.A., San Diego, L.A. again, Portland, Olympia and Seattle. Because we are glitzy rock stars, we stayed in (one and a half star) hotels with big neon signs and bedding that was *probably* clean. Maybe our favorite thing that happened was that we finally met Melissa, an Olympia DJ who was part of why we went on tour in the first place (Honey is her and her boyfriend's special song). We also played with a band in Seattle called (for real) The Divorce (get it?). And in San Francisco, we played at Bottom on the Hill, where pretty much every favorite band of ours has played. Our least favorite thing was a detour we made in Oregon that basically consisted of an hour of hairpin turns and incredibly tight curves on a road with a death-ensuring drop-off while sitting in a van full of shifting, creaking gear. These are the times that tried our souls. But we made it back in one piece. And then maybe three weeks later we had to pack up again to go to...
  2. SXSW. This is the second time we've gone to Austin to play (last year was a good year for us there, what with the getting signed and the playing two parties, and all) and we were excited to go back. This year we played one party right at the start (thanks IODA), and another at the very end (thanks Absolutely Kosher). These were both rad. In between, collectively and individually, we saw loads of other shows, all culminating in the Stooges reunion show, which is probably coming to your town soon and which you should see. Because, will you ever see the Asheton brothers on a stage together again? Probably not.
  3. Oh – and Jim DeRogatis just *happened* to stumble across our show and ended up saying some nice things about us:

  4. Fast forward to NOW – our big news is that on Tuesday, May 15, we're playing Bowery Ballroom with TigerCity, Sam Champion and Stylofone. We're probably the most excited we've been in a while (it's hard to tell, as things have been fairly exciting overall as of late), and we really, REALLY hope that you can check us out. You know we're always much more than happy to have you. For more on our Bowery Ballroom show, go here.
  5. As always, thanks so much for your support. It's what keeps us going.
